Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2026

Date: Friday, 20 November 2026 (Smarta) · Saturday, 21 November 2026 (Vaishnava)
Observance: Kartik Shukla Ekadashi — Prabodhini Ekadashi

Dev Uthani Ekadashi is the morning the gods wake. Vishnu rises from his four-month yoga-nidra of Chaturmas, the season of restraint ends, and the auspicious season opens again — weddings, engagements and new ventures traditionally resume from this day.

The Ekadashi tithi runs from 7:15 AM on 20 November to 6:31 AM on 21 November (New Delhi). Most households keep the fast on Friday 20 November; Vaishnava families fast on Saturday 21 November. Parana for the Friday fast is on 21 November, 1:11 PM – 3:18 PM in New Delhi. Tulsi Vivah — the ceremonial wedding of Tulsi to Shaligram — is celebrated on the evening of 21 November.
